Jesus called His disciples to evangelize and make disciples in all nations. Jesus also called upon His disciples to care for the poor. Although Bible-believing Christians typically are obedient to Jesus’ call to spread the Word, they all too often forget about Jesus’ gospel about the poor. This is sad, because Jesus made it clear that caring for the poor is a salvation issue (Matt. 25)—not something optional. A challenging message.
