For years we’ve been looking for a music CD with a particular sound: traditional hymns sung by an excellent tenor or baritone lead voice, accompanied with group harmony. No drums, electric guitars, synthesized percussion, or other modern innovations. We never found the CD we were looking for, so we decided to compile our own.
We listened to hundreds of recorded tracks, and when we found the sound we were looking for, we bought the rights to those tracks. About half of the hymns are sung a cappella, and the others feature light background instrumentation. Here is Scroll Publishing’s first music CD, with ten of our favorite hymns, including The Lord’s Prayer, In the Garden, Whispering Hope, Softly and Tenderly, and more.
