This is a series of stimulating messages by David Bercot on the history of the United States from its European roots through the adoption of the U. S. Constitution. However, unlike other resources on American history, these messages look at the history of the United States from the perspective of Jesus' kingdom teachings. In the course of this series, Bercot demonstrates that America is not a Christian nation

The messages are suitable for high school students and adults. The set consists of the following CD messages:

Disc 1: In the Beginning. Describes Jesus's kingdom teachings, the doctrine of the Two Kingdoms, and the early Christians witness.

Disc 2: The Reformation vs. the Kingdom of God. Shows how the Reformation was not a return to the kingdom of God.

Disc 3: Geneva: The Seedbed of American Christianity. Explains Calvin's teachings and their impact on American history.

Disc 4: When Puritans Ruled What life was like when the Puritans governed England.

Disc 5: The English Come to America Describes the founding of Jamestown and Plymouth, but from a kingdom perspective.

Disc 6: The Truth About Puritan New England Describes life in colonial New England prior to the American Revolution. Bercot reveals that three industries that helped the settlers in New England became prosperous were smuggling, rum distilling, and the slave trade.

Disc 7: Causes of the American Revolution. In this message, Bercot not only analyzes the causes of the Revolution-- including matters we didn't learn in history class--;but he does so from a kingdom perspective.

Disc 8: The Real Reasons Why the Americans Won the Revolution. Did it take a miracle from God for the colonists to prevail against England? Not in the least. Bercot explains the reasons why the Americans won their war for independence.

Disc 9: The Losers: The One Who Suffered Because of the American Victory. The revolutionists won the war, but many of the people who lived in America suffered tremendously as a result. Among these were the Indians, Loyalists, blacks, and nonresistant Christians.

Disc 10: Persecution of Kingdom Christians During the American Revolution. Kingdom Christians like the Quakers, Mennonites, and Brethren came to America to gain religious freedom. Most of them settled in Pennsylvania, where they were guaranteed freedom to practice authentic Christianity, as described in the Sermon on the Mount. However, during the War, the revolutionists took away the basic freedoms these nonresistant colonists had been guaranteed.

Disc 11: Faith of the Founding Fathers #1: The Conventional Christians. In this message, Bercot discusses the religious convictions of four key founding fathers who were conventional Christians: Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay.

Disc 12: Faith of the Founding Fathers #2: George Washington. George Washington attended the Episcopal Church while he served as President. Yet, he kept his religious beliefs to himself. Bercot discusses what Washington's personal diary reveals about his spiritual nature, as well as the truth about Washington praying in the snow at Valley Forge.

Disc 13: Faith of the Founding Fathers #3: The Deists and Fence-Sitters.

Benjamin Franklin was a Deist who had strong faith in God, but never believed in the Deity of Christ. John Adams was a Unitarian. Madison kept his beliefs to himself. Jefferson and Thomas Paine were staunch Deists.

Disc 14: How God Was Written Out of the United States Constitution. Why is God never mentioned in the U. S. Constitution? Bercot demonstrates that this was no accidental omission. Rather, he was deliberately left out by the framers of the Constitution.

Disc 15: Important Documents in American History. Through the course of this series of messages, Bercot quotes from numerous primary sources: early Christian writings, writings of the Reformers and Puritans, letters, diaries, treaties, colonial charters, colonial newspaper articles, and more. Now, his listeners can read these original source documents for themselves, as they are reproduced on this PDF disc.

Christian history unmasked 02/02/2018
By Joel
This is a very broad, but comprehensive overview of European, American and Christian history, which is so obviously a well researched labour of love. You would not even necessarily have to be interested in the USA's history specifically, to appreciate the content of this message, because it remains focused on the primary theme of Christianity throughout. It helped me to understand more clearly, the various branches of Christian sects which persist to the present, their interpretations and their practices. How these beginning in Europe contributed to an end result in the USA throughout the Revolution and how those paths really lead to the formation of the world we have today. It helps to understand what real Christian teaching should look like in comparison to that of the world and brings into focus the stark reality of continuing atrocities under so-called "Christian" societies. In short, even though it is very useful American history lesson by itself, it is an equally useful Christian history lesson and actually I don't think you can begin to understand our current confusing climate without this background. I really appreciated this study - it was honestly well worth every penny and second of attention - thank you!
