God’s Wake-Up Call represents a summary of Hershberger’s lifetime of study in the book of Hebrews. The applications to the contemporary scene are pertinent and much needed in the church today. The book reveals the author’s deep concern that people understand the need to follow God fully. In ten penetrating chapters, the author warns, instructs and admonishes the reader in the “most holy faith.” From the back cover of the book : A Tribute to the Late Ervin N. Hershberger “My bags are packed, I am ready to go.” These were the words of Ervin N. Hershberger when asked how he was. This man of God, knowing that his earthly sojourn was drawing to a close, had made “his calling and election sure.” He was a man of prayer. Rising early while many slept, he spent daily time alone with the Lord in prayer, mentioning those of his congregation by name, both young and old alike.
