David Bercot. Bercot sets forth eight steps to enable us to gain complete victory over bitterness. A person who once struggled with bitterness himself, Bercot speaks from personal experience. He explains that bitterness not only robs us of our happiness, it will cost us our eternal life if we don’t gain victory over it.

In this message, Bercot makes it clear why God allows us to be wronged by others. He also explains why those who’ve wronged us have actually blessed us. Bitterness is a choice. No one can take our joy away from us if we don’t give it to them. Finally, Bercot points out that, ironically, bitter and “hurting” people are often people who hurt others.

This message highlights the danger and sinfulness of bitterness and makes forgiveness an urgent issue for all Christians, as David Bercot shares both scriptures and real life examples. He discusses the excuse of people "hurting" to justify unforgiveness. While it's true that the bible doesn't talk about "hurting" people, it does talk about "wounds" of the heart, such as Prov 18:8 and Ps. 147:3. While it's very good to know the dangers of bitterness, a person also needs to know how to overcome bitterness, how to pray for enemies and for oneself, stages of healing and subtle signs of bitterness. I hope there will be a "Part 2" CD to help act on what they've learned.
