David Bercot. God didn’t place us on earth so that we can build our own personal kingdoms. No, He intends for us to make lasting contributions to His Kingdom during our lifetimes. Drawing heavily from Jesus’ parable of the talents (Mt. 25), Bercot shows that building up God’s Kingdom is not optional for Christians. Jesus requires it! more.

Bercot discusses four main types of kingdom ministries:

  • 1. Matt. 25 ministries (feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, etc.). This is the most important kingdom ministry, because it’s the only one that Jesus said would affect our salvation.

  • 2. Evangelism and missionary work

  • 3. Congregational ministries

  • 4. Intercessory prayer

  • Bercot goes on to give concrete examples of ways we can build up the Kingdom of God during our time on earth: helping the poor and needy, visiting the sick, witnessing, and furthering the Gospel in other ways. He gives both biblical and present day examples. Whether we’re male or female, young or old, there is some way each of us can win at least one victory for the Kingdom during our time on earth!

Is Jesus Christ and His kingdom at the center of your life? Or are they something you squeeze in as you have time? What victories have you won for the kingdom during your life here on earth?

A great soul 12/19/2017
By Steven Anstey
David Bercot is one of the greatest souls I’ve met. I fondly remember driving from Seattle through Phoenix (which seemed like hell at the time in Pete’s little black civic with no aircon) to Texas with Peter to visit David at his house. The time that I was blessed to personally have the opportunity to fellowship with him and his brothers and sisters is one of the highlights of my life. All his work has greatly blessed me.
