I grew up playing the game of Authors with my brothers and sisters. As a result, I was familiar with the names of prominent authors such as Charles Dickens and Louisa May Alcott long before I was introduced to them in middle school and high school. Likewise,
because of playing Authors, I was also familiar with the names of famous literary works such as David Copperfield, Evangeline, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
We always played the game the same way that Go Fish is played. However, virtually any card game can be adapted to this 52-card deck. Each deck includes color portraits of 13 famous authors and highlights their works. Includes instructions. Learning about literature can actually be fun! Ideal for homeschoolers.

We played this a lot growing up and it really helped us in getting to know the great book and authors. Lots of fun.

As a child, I played this game with my sister, and we knew who wrote what later when we were in school! I use the card game with my high schoolers, and they have a fun day when we play.
