Mennonite Music

Conservative Mennonite churches sing without musical accompaniment. This was the practice of the early church, and this practice is generally known as a cappella singing. We carry CDs of some of the best Mennonite a cappella singing groups around, such as Altar of Praise Chorale, Antrim Mennonite Choir, the Oasis Chorale, and the Smucker Family. We now also carry CDs from the well-known Mennonite Hour Singers, who were featured on the Mennonite radio program of the 1950's and 1960's, known as the Mennonite Hour.

This is a delightful CD featuring 11 early Anabaptist hymns from the Ausbund. These hymns are set to lovely music and instrumentation from the 16th century. All of the singing is in German, as that was the language the Ausbund. . Please note: These are Austrians, not Amish, who do the singing. The music is not a cappella.

By special license from the Austrian producer, Scroll Publishing has now been granted the license to manufacture this CD in house. The CD is packaged in the same manner as our teaching CDs, in a slim CD case.
