Septuagint - Brenton Translation
$44.95
$27.95
On Sale!
The Septuagint was the first translation made of the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek. It was begun over two hundred years before the birth of Jesus. It was translated from a Hebrew Old Testament text-type that is older than the Masoretic text, from which most Old Testaments are translated today. This is sad, for the apostles had access to both the Septuagint and to the proto-Masoretic text that was in existence in their time. Yet they chose to quote from the Septuagint---not the proto-Masoretic text.
This hardback, well-bound English translation of the Septuagint was translated by L. Brenton, using King James English---so that the language would be familiar to readers of the King James Translation. It includes the books commonly known as the "Apocrypha," which were part of the Septuagintal canon. Also includes the Greek text.
Hard cover. 1365 pages.

1611 King James Bible
$39.95
$29.95

The King James Version is the most influential English Bible in history. However, over time, the text has suffered subtle and troublesome alterations. Even worse, the original marginal notes of the translators are omitted in present-day editions of the KJV. These notes are important because they convey alternate textual and translational wording, which the translators felt were important to convey to their readers.
This attractive edition preserves the original 1611 edition, word for word and page for page, including the original preface and marginal notes. However, it uses 19th century Roman typeface, making it more readable to modern readers. Elegantly bound with old-world quality craftsmanship.

CD: What Happened After Acts
$4.95
D. Bercot.
The Book of Acts ends with Pauls first imprisonment in Rome. But what happened after that? What eventually became of Paul? What about Peter, John and the rest of the apostles? How far did Christianity spread in the 1st and 2nd centuries? Who led the church after the apostles died? What challenges did the new church face?
Happily, we dont have to guess about such matters. The historical record of the 2nd century sheds considerable light on what happened during the 1st century after the Book of Acts was written. This message covers the period from A.D. 30 to the middle of the 2nd century.

CD: Who Were the Nicolaitans and the Gnostics?
$4.95
D. Bercot.
There were two primary heretical groups during the New Testament period: The Nicolaitans and the Gnostics. Revelation refers to the Nicolaitans, and both Paul and John allude to the Gnostics in their letters. But the New Testament tells us very little about what these groups believed and practiced.
Both of these groups grew larger once the apostles passed away, and the early Christian writings provide considerable information about both of these early heretical groups. In this CD, Bercot explains how both of these groups originated and what they believed and practiced.
