Philip Schaff: Ante-Nicene Christianity

Philip Schaff. For two decades, we’ve been trying to find a way to offer this volume to our readers. However, until now, it’s only been available as part of an eight-volume set of church history. Finally we’re able to offer this valuable work as a single volume. In it, Schaff covers virtually every aspect of the early church: church leaders, apologists, heresies, early Christian beliefs, church structure, early Christian worship, art, the catacombs, and many other subjects.

As a Reformed theologian, Schaff didn’t fully appreciate the ante-Nicene Christians. However, for the most part, his history is objective. Since he wrote this work in the 1800s, it’s free of the modernist thought that dominates church history books today.
