Charles Thomson was Secretary of the Continental Congress, a devout believer, and a Greek scholar. He devoted twenty years of his life to translating the Septuagint into English. His translation was first published in 1808. It features the familiar names and the verse numbers of the Old Testament books as used in the King James Bible.
This handsome hard-bound volume features a fairly large type size to make reading easy. It includes only the 39 books found in the Protestant Old Testament.
